AMPL-CPLEX
AMPL® is a comprehensive, powerful and flexible algebraic modeling language for linear, nonlinear and integer programming problems. ILOG is an authorized reseller of AMPL, which was developed at Bell Laboratories, the research and development arm of Lucent Technologies.

ILOG offers AMPL in two ways:
  • As AMPL CPLEX System, which combines the AMPL modeling language with ILOG CPLEX.
  • As AMPL, an additional option when purchasing ILOG CPLEX or ILOG Parallel CPLEX.

GAMS-CPLEX
The General Algebraic Modeling System (GAMS) is a high-level modeling system for mathematical programming and optimization. It consists of a language compiler and several integrated high-performance solvers. GAMS handles complex, large-scale modeling applications. With it, you can build large, easy-to-maintain models that can quickly adapt to new environments.

GAMS-CPLEX is a GAMS solver that allows users to combine the high-level modeling capabilities of GAMS with the power of ILOG CPLEX optimizers. It provides several solving options, but it calculates and sets most options at the best values for specific problems.
