Developing applications with ILOG Elixir

Basic requirements for installation:

• ILOG Elixir is an add-on for the Adobe Flex and AIR development platforms. You must have Adobe Flex 3.0 installed before you can begin to develop applications with ILOG Elixir. You can download Adobe Flex 3.0 directly from Adobe.
• An ILOG Elixir-based Adobe AIR application requires the Adobe AIR 1.0. You can get it free from Adobe.
• ILOG Elixir runs on all platforms supported by Adobe for Adobe Flex. ILOG provides installers for the Apple Macintosh, Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems.
• You must have at least 100 MB of free disk space in order to install ILOG Elixir.

Recommendations for use:

• An integrated development environment (IDE) is not required, but it is strongly recommended in order to use ILOG Elixir. The controls included in the software are immediately accessible from palettes on Adobe Flex's IDEs—either Adobe Flex Builder or Adobe Flex Builder Professional 3.0—and they are used like other native controls (they can be dragged and dropped, for example).

Running ILOG Elixir-based Adobe Flex applications

An ILOG Elixir-based Adobe Flex application requires the Adobe Flash 9.0 plug-in. Most computers already have this plug-in. If you do not, you will be prompted to install it.
