CPLEX maintenance services
Maintenance is recommended for all CPLEX licensees. Maintenance services include software updates; highly rated technical support by phone, fax, or e-mail; prior purchase credits for new licenses; CPLEX newsletter subscription; electronic support services; and much more. Go to the ILOG Services page for more details.
Technical support services
Available by phone, fax, or e-mail to commercial licensees who have subscribed
to maintenance services. Technical support covers questions about ILOG CPLEX's features,
capabilities, and performance, along with help for debugging the ILOG CPLEX Callable Library
and ILOG Concert Technology applications. Questions or tutoring related to basic mathematical optimization, modeling or computer programming is beyond the scope of ILOG CPLEX technical support. The links at the
bottom of this page will give you more information on these topics.
Academic licensees acquiring ILOG CPLEX through the academic program do not pay maintenance subscription fees, and do not qualify for the same level of support. Academic users may send questions via fax or e-mail, but we cannot guarantee a response. Nonetheless, there are other support options:
- Consult the list of frequently asked questions (FAQs).
- Check the list of debugging tips in chapter three of the ILOG CPLEX user's manual.
- Access one of the operations research or computer science newsgroups on the Internet, such as sci.op-research.
- Purchase a ILOG CPLEX commercial license with full maintenance services.

Bug reports
ILOG CPLEX development and testing is very rigorous. Bugs are rare. If you truly believe you have a bug, you can send us a description via e-mail, along with the information necessary to reproduce the symptom. Do not send large ILOG CPLEX Callable Library or ILOG Concert Technology applications that fail during an ILOG CPLEX routine. Errors in such applications may appear to be ILOG CPLEX bugs, but the problem usually resides within the user's calling program. If the problem is truly ILOG CPLEX related, it should be possible to reproduce it either with the interactive ILOG CPLEX optimizer, or by using one of the simple example programs included with the distribution.

Recommendations for finding the source of errors can be found in our list of debugging tips.
