Telemanagement Forum and ILOG Collaborate to Provide Online Tool for NGOSS Testing

New Web Service Leverages ILOG JRules to Validate NGOSS Solutions

MORRISTOWN, NEW JERSEY and MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., - May 20, 2003 - An agreement between the TeleManagement Forum (TM Forum) and ILOG® (NASDAQ: ILOG; Euronext SICOVAM: 006673) announced today provides TM Forum members with an exclusive new Web service that lets them test product and application compliance with the TM Forum's New Generation Operations Systems and Software (NGOSS) standards. Powered by the award-winning ILOG JRules™, part of ILOG's Business Rule Management System (BRMS) product line, the new self-test tool, designed for TM Forum website integration for 2003, will allow TM Forum members to fine-tune their candidate NGOSS-compliant applications, helping bring much-needed NGOSS solutions to market faster.

The TM Forum, as an association of telecommunications service providers, equipment vendors, software suppliers and systems integrators, defines key business processes and supporting technical frameworks through their flagship NGOSS program, which provides guidelines, recommendations and de facto standards for OSS/BSS development, procurement and deployment. The new Web service tool leverages ILOG JRules' advanced flexibility to enable online diagnostic 'self-tests' for NGOSS compliance, via the TM Forum Web site.

"Streamlining business processes is critical in today's environment, so it was equally important for the TM Forum to provide our members with a Web service version of our validation tool to help speed time to market for NGOSS applications," said James Warner, president, TM Forum. "With this offering, we are able to leverage ILOG's business rules expertise and provide a highly flexible testing tool to our members, allowing them to easily assess the readiness of their OSS solutions for NGOSS compliance."

NGOSS recommendations evolve in response to both changing industry dynamics and as a result of ongoing development by TM Forum Technical Collaboration Teams. Accordingly, the TM Forum tapped the power of ILOG JRules as a compliance tool by porting an existing ILOG-based testing tool to a Web-based service that could be easily maintained by the organization's non-technical administrators. ILOG JRules, which delivers unique business management tools, enables this type of 'on-the-fly' maintenance by business users, enabling the TM Forum's administrators to add and change rules as needed, ensuring that the validation tool is always kept up to date.

ILOG, a member of the TM Forum's NGOSS Compliance Collaboration Team, has consistently built on its history of product innovation to make ILOG JRules the leading business rule engine. For the second year in a row, ILOG has been named to the leader quadrant of Gartner's Magic Quadrant for business rule engines based on its ability to execute and its vision. Customers of ILOG's award-winning JRules include Orange, Vodafone, eBay, Fannie Mae, MetLife, Sabre and many other leading Global 2000 companies and governments worldwide.

The Web service can be accessed via the TM Forum website at www.tmforum.org.
